چکیده

The Shapley Supercluster ($\langle z \rangle\approx0.048$) contains several tens of gravitationally bound clusters and groups, making it is an ideal subject for radio studies cluster mergers. We used new high sensitivity observations to investigate the less energetic events mass assembly in from supercluster down galactic scales. created total intensity images full region between A 3558 3562, $\sim 230$ 1650$ MHz, using ASKAP, MeerKAT GMRT, with sensitivities ranging 6$ 100$ $\mu$Jy beam$^{-1}$. performed a detailed morphological spectral study extended emission features, complemented ESO-VST optical imaging X-ray data XMM-Newton. report first GHz frequency detection extremely low brightness intercluster diffuse on 1$ Mpc scale connecting group, namely: 3562 group SC 1329--313. It morphologically similar region. also found (1) tail generated by ram pressure stripping galaxy SOS 61086 1329-313; (2) head-tail galaxy, whose broken culminates misaligned bar; (3) ultrasteep at centre 3558. Finally (4), we confirm ultra-steep spectrum nature halo 3562. Our strongly supports scenario flyby 1329-313 north into core. [abridged...]

The Density Contrast of the Shapley Supercluster

We calculate the density contrast of the Shapley Supercluster (SSC) based on the enhanced abundance of X-ray clusters in it, using the extended Press-Schechter formalism. We derive a total SSC mass of Mtot = (3.5 ± 0.35) × 10 16 M⊙ within a sphere of 50 Mpc centered at a distance of about 160 Mpc. The nonlinear fractional density contrast of the sphere is (1 + δ) = 1.39 ± 0.13 relative to the m...

PSPC observations of the Shapley Supercluster : A 3562

We present a combined analysis of the BeppoSAX and ROSAT PSPC observation of the cluster of galaxies A3562, a massive member of the core of the Shapley Supercluster. With a complex and interacting structure composed from two groups of galaxies and A3558 to the West, the surface brightness of A3562 shows excess in the sectors to East and South when compared with an azimuthally averaged model of ...

The Large Scale Distribution of Galaxies in the Shapley Supercluster

We present new results of our wide-field redshift survey of galaxies in a 182 square degree region of the Shapley Supercluster (SSC) based on observations with the FLAIRII spectrograph on the UK Schmidt Telescope (UKST). In this paper we present new measurements to give a total sample of redshifts for 710 bright (R ≤ 16.6) galaxies, of which 464 are members of the SSC (8000 < v < 18000kms ). Ou...

Shapley Optical Survey . I : Luminosity Functions in the Supercluster Environment ⋆

We present the Shapley Optical Survey, a photometric study covering a ∼ 2 deg2 region of the Shapley Supercluster core at z∼0.05 in two bands (B and R). The galaxy sample is complete to B = 22.5 (>M+6, Ngal = 16 588), and R = 22.0 (>M+7, Ngal = 28 008). The galaxy luminosity function cannot be described by a single Schechter function due to dips apparent at B ∼ 17.5 (MB ∼ 19.3) and R ∼ 17.0 (MR...
